Candice Olson Decorating Ideas 2011 , Kitchen , Dining room , Bathroom , Bedroom , Living room

Can't you just picture coming downstairs to the smell of coffee in your chic kitchen? Even though it isn't huge the space is really used well. I love the glass door cabinets and dark counter-tops. The fridge gives it a sleek look but the little touches like the green stools and cute lamp keep it more traditional and warm. The great thing about these types of designs is they look beautiful but it's nothing the average person couldn't do with a little elbow grease.

This dining room is a dream! Soft powdered blues and cremes are so serene and calming. It would be lovely to have a fireplace in your dining room to roar while you have your family dinners. The detail on the chairs is phenomenal as well. It's a solid light blue on the seat but the back has a pretty pattern upholstered on it and the rug below matches perfectly with the whole scene. Bon appetite!

I think this bathroom would be like having your very own spa in your house. Lots of dark finishes and stone looking tiles with a large soaker tub make it feel classic and comfortable. I think the floating counter is a really interesting look and the white coral accessory is the perfect touch. Give me my glass of wine and dim the lights because I'm ready for a soak!

This massive bedroom is the size of my entire apartment! It's so warm and inviting and the vaulted ceiling gives it a unique architectural touch that draws the eye. A bedroom is your sanctuary so it should be a representation of you and whatever makes you comfortable. A fireplace in the bedroom is so romantic and a chaise always looks like a luxurious place to flop down with a good book. I would love to retire to this paradise every night.

This is a basement hang out Candice did on a more recent episode and I am digging everything about it. It's such a warm colour pallet but it's practical at the same time. One thing that always drives me crazy is when designers fill a room with white furniture. Of course it looks beautiful but will it after your dark furred kitty has rolled around on it and the kids have spilled their juice or the dust settles and it just looks grubby? A dark couch helps you to feel less neurotic about spills and messes. The recessed lighting really works well here with a few lamps and sconces and the neutral rug ties everything together. Pop in your favorite movie and cuddle up with the ones you love!

Decorating Design Ideas 2011 By Leslie Ezelle's

Leslie, an interior designer from Dallas, Texas, joins the cast of HGTV Design Star season six. Take a peek at the designs that earned her a spot on the show.

Eclectic and Modern

The gold lamps and the buffet are created by LeslieChristine Designs along with the original art work by Ezelle. Oversized large floor vases serve as an alternative candle holder with floating candles. "Toby the Kitty is available for personal appearances on demand, but you must go through his agent," says Ezelle.

Contemporary Bachelor Pad

Ezelle designs a bachelor pad to create a masculine yet seductive look great for throwing parties. This 15x17-square-foot room needed to have lots of space and places to sit. The look is achieved by combining contrasting colors of green ottomans with light furniture and warm browns.

Contemporary Dining Room

This dining room features cornice boards that are constructed from core poster board covered with batting and velvet assembled with a hot glue gun. With a light-weight cornice board, it's much easier to install by simply placing on top of the curtain rods hidden beneath. The Asian-inspired buffet dictates the color and style of this dining room.

Restored Furnishings

These two chairs were found in the trash (Ezelle's favorite type of furniture). She had them reupholstered in off-white leather and created a geometric pattern with studs all around the arms. The coffee table is created from a piece of glass that she sprayed a frosted color and two small book cases she laid on their side for extra storage.

Mod Living Room

Originally, this room had no light and was blocked off by walls to separate living and dining. By adding a sliding glass door and removing dividing walls, the 19x12-square-foot room feels twice as large. All the furnishings are white allowing the bright fuchsia wall to be a focal point of the space.

Relaxing Master Bedroom

Combining stone grey, warm earth tones with amethyst lavender accents and bold linens in white, this bedroom becomes a perfect peaceful retreat. The neutral linen covered chair, originally found in someone's trash, is saved and redesigned by LeslieChristine Designs.

Contemporary Office Setting

Inspired by "Set Fire to the Rain" (a painting by Leslie Ezelle 2011), the office has various shades of white in contrast with warm browns, metallic gold and platinum. It's important to have an office with a warm, home environment yet maintain a professional feel. Pictures of energy infrastructure and the firms products are used and presented in an artistic, edgy manner.

Modern Living Space

When dealing with a beautiful wall-to-wall window view, less is more. It's important not to compete with the view by keeping each decorative choice to a bare minimum.

Kid's Room Decorating Design Ideas 2011 by HGTV Designer

Twice the cuteness, twice the fun, this cottage-inspired little girls room offers a soft color palate of celadon, daisy yellow and ocean blue. A timeless design is chosen to offer enjoyment for years to come.

This child’s room was designed for today and for the future. Instead of choosing pink or purple to paint the walls, a more calming and sophisticated green color is used. This will wear well with time as the child grows and also is a very cozy color. The white furniture was the perfect contrast to bring crispness to the room. All of it can be purchased from west elm. The shag rug continues to create a very comfortable place to hang out and play or to read a book.

This kid's space is the perfect room for grandchildren to stay while visiting.

This bedroom consists of custom-designed bunk beds and shelving for stylish storage.

This celebrity baby nursery was designed for Lisa and Buddy Valastro. They didn't want to know the baby's gender before birth; the gender neutral nursery is a compromise of the mother's desire to have an elegant, traditional nursery without a theme and the father's desire for a jungle safari nursery theme with animals. The giraffe family wall hanging and a few subtle touches of safari accessories add the jungle theme to the otherwise traditional nursery.

Sweet pink, yellow and green nursery with custom-designed bedding features a variety of textures to stimulate touch for this baby girl. A custom wall hanging and mural were painted to add a personalized touch.

This room evokes a feeling of elegance, along with a sense of playfulness. The delicate nature of the crystal chandelier counterbalances pops of bright pink ruffles, which brings a whimsical feel to the space.

This little girl's bedroom gets its whimsical feeling from the garden-themed faux-painted walls, birdhouse bed and colorful window seat. Little Miss Muffet stools provide a lift to hang up doll clothes and reach books in the birdhouse. Mice of all sizes gather in nooks and crannies to keep this little girl company as she dreams and plays in this magical room.

Here's a beautiful room for a young girl who wants to feel grown up. The cascading floral fabric and headboard envelops her in style and makes her feel as though she's sleeping in an English country garden. Photo by David Duncan Livingston.

The use of textures such as leather, tweed and heavy canvas helps carry the cowboy theme and provides a durable solution for an active boy.

Girls Bedroom Decorating Ideas 2011

Here on Modern Furniture you’ve seen a lot of themed bedrooms for kids. It is true, fairy tales, castles and princesses provide a wide range of ideas for bedrooms, but today, we would like to show you something new: hearts. You’ve seen them drawn on every teenager’s diary, piece of paper or bumper sticker. And it’s a known fact: young ladies love hearts. Which is why these six bedrooms below all feature heart themed furniture. The colors are also typical for teen girls (pink, light green, yellow, red, baby blue). Chairs, pillows, bed covers, nothing escaped the mighty heart-shaped plan. Some of these interiors are a bit too crowded for our tastes, but then again, it is not us who the manufacturers target.

Favorite Bedrooms Decorating Ideas 2011 that I Love

Flea Market Chic
With mix-and-match (well, mostly mix) flea market treasures, this room exudes a level of sophistication well beyond its pedigree. Simple walls showcase the worn finishes of the vintage furniture and make each item stand out as special.

Why We Love It: Forget shabby, this is flea market style pulled off with sophistication and restraint.

Center Stage
This multilevel master bedroom is stately and refined. The light gray walls are a beautiful complement to the yellow floral textiles, and the towering windows add plenty of light and drama.

Why I Love It: With its multilevel floor of deeply colored wood, this master suite has a flair for the dramatic.

Femme Chic
A plush tufted headboard, lavender walls, and a dainty chandelier give this room a girly vibe. A nearly random mix of patterns and styles comes together with bohemian charm.

Why I Love It: The unexpected color scheme is surprisingly stylish and chic, infusing the room with a spirit of individuality.

Sage Sanctuary
The monochromatic window treatments, headboard, and walls offer a soothing backdrop to the simple white linens and accessories in this restful retreat.

Why I Love It: Monochromatic color schemes are unified and soothing, a perfect choice for bedrooms. The only pattern is found on subtly striped pillows that are showcased against white bedding .

Understated Luxury
The sophisticated furniture and neutral palette gives this room an undertone of opulence, while the angled bed and large-scale accents add a bit of drama.

Why I Love It: The mix-and-match approach to furnishings and accessories creates a timeless room with a few pleasant little surprises .

Simple and Chic
Vapor blue walls create a soothing atmosphere in this discreetly feminine master suite. Eclectic furnishings, both vintage and modern, transform the room into a personal haven.

Why I Love It: The dark floors are mirrored by an unexpected and impressive wood ceiling that makes the room more intimate while increasing the chandelier's wow factor.

Warm and Modern
Fresh white bedding and accessories contrast with the rich brown walls to keep the bedroom from feeling gloomy. Rust-color pillow shams introduce an accent hue and establish a focal point on the bed.

Why I Love It: Great rooms reflect current trends, but straight-up modern design can leave us cold. Here, earthy color, tactile bedding, and handcrafted art create a comfy bedroom that's right for today .

Dressed to the Nines
Perfect design lives where comfort intersects with style. This sumptuous bed is dressed with layer upon layer of beautiful bedding, each softer and loftier than the last. It's hard to imagine tossing and turning in this luxurious retreat.

Why We Love It: The bed offers an assortment of indulgent textures: the nubby linen headboard, the smooth silk of embroidered pillows, the duvet cover in dimpled matelasse, and the bristly hand of the mohair loveseat. Pattern and color are always important in decorating but interesting textures can make a good room great .

Personal Style
The bed, bench, table, pillows, and headboard combine to give this room a strong horizontal orientation, low and sleek, with a mid-century feel. The items on the bedside table add enough vertical tension to keep things interesting.

Why I Love It: While nothing in this room is precisely coordinated, it all works together fabulously. A casual mix of fabrics and furniture, both vintage and new, creates individual style that you won't find at the mall for any price .

Four-Post Presence
The large poster bed is the attention-grabber in this pale master suite. The easiest way to create drama in a smaller room is to choose one beautiful overscale piece of furniture and let it take charge.

Why I Love It: A nearly neutral palette reinforces the bed's dominance and creates a tranquil mood. The intriguing wall color (lavender? gray? taupe?) is very sophisticated, especially with the counterpoint provided by the russet blanket.

East Meets West
The geometry and proportion of this bedroom's furnishings spring straight from Asian design, but the rustic wood surfaces and faux suede bed give off a cool cowboy vibe.

Why I Love It: The most inspired spaces usually meld multiple style sources. Whatever its pedigree, this bedroom works because of perfectly scaled symmetry and organic textures. Even with white walls, the coppery palette of the draperies and bedding lends comfort and warmth

Cool and Classic
Cool blue and lavender are natural color choices for a restful bedroom, but by themselves pastels can turn downright chilly. Plenty of brown and white accents keep this room snugly warm.

Why I Love It: Traditional furniture is classic and familiar but it can be stodgy without a nod toward modern style. This bedding is definitely trendy, but its brown color and geometric patterns relate to the bed's paneled headboard .
