Master Bathroom Pictures 2011 " HGTV Dream Home 2011 "

The centerpiece of the bathroom's design, a vintage tub discovered at a local architectural salvage center is updated with a coat of paint and a hemlock cradle.

Adding understated ambiance, pewter-trimmed glass votive holders line the ledge above the tub.

Carpenter David Brown handcrafted the custom birch-framed mirror for the space. Lighting fixtures that peek through the glass complete the clean, uncluttered look.

Charcoal quartz countertop accommodates two sinks topped with modern chrome faucets. A bouquet of white hydrangeas and white countertop accessories extend the neutral canvas.

The vanity comes equipped with a warming drawer for towels and lotions.

The home's most dramatic view can be enjoyed as one peers through the master bathroom's 5-foot-wide by 12-foot-tall column of glass.

Master Bathroom Pictures : HGTV Smart Home 2013

About the Master Bathroom:
An effective layering of materials and patterns spells success in the spa style bathroom, where honed travertine and glass tile blend seamlessly. The "tone-on-tone, clean" look, says interior designer Linda Woodrum, complements the room's high-tech features, including a toilet/bidet and programmable shower and tub features.

Travertine tile clads the floor, wall and ceiling in the glass enclosed shower and bathing area, where a series of windows beams light into the space without sacrificing privacy.

The room's wet enclosure includes a soaking tub, nested in the 6 foot deep by 3 ½-foot wide bathing area. Why a shower and bath combination? "You are at the beach and maybe you want to come home and have a long soak but first you shower off and then you soak," says Linda.

The 7 foot vanity, capped with quartz, offers his and hers sinks. Bayberry bouquets and an African violet lend an infusion of color and pop when paired with ceramic candle lanterns and condiment plates topped with imported French milk soaps.

Clear glass encompasses the wet enclosure, while a wall of frosted glass offers a buffer of privacy in the water closet area while allowing sunlight to stream through.

The oversized vanity mirror reflects light and visually expands the size of the space. A mercury glass lamp placed atop the counter surface continues the focus on reflective surfaces.

Master Bedroom Pictures : HGTV Dream Home 2013

Inspired by sand, sea and beachcombing adventures, the master bedroom offers a quiet escape from the home's social spaces.

 About the Master Suite Bedroom:

"Every HGTV Dream Home 2013 bedroom has a theme," says interior designer Linda Woodrum, who envisioned quiet morning beachcombing strolls when she selected the master bedroom's tone on tone palette and collection of subdued furnishings. Although the great room's drapery fabric is repeated in this space, interior design takes a decided step back. "It's quieter and more serene because it's the home's great escape spot," she adds.

Master Bathroom Pictures : HGTV Dream Home 2013

Travertine style porcelain tile and clean white surfaces define this spa like master bath, where an antique style dresser and botanical artwork offer an intriguing focal point.

 About the Master Suite Bathroom

Interior designer Linda Woodrum turned a challenge into a triumph in the master bathroom. The room's unique floor plan lacked a clear cut focal point. The solution came in the form of a scalloped chest, above which hangs an antique style glicee. "We have this new approach: How do you create a new way of looking at a bathroom when you have an unusual configuration?" says interior designer Linda Woodrum.
